The standard load capacity for a stairlift typically ranges from 120 to 130 kilograms; some models feature a rated load capacity of no less than 125 kilograms, with a maximum load limit reaching up to 200 kilograms. The operating speed is usually adjustable within a range of 0.12 to 0.26 meters per second, with a standard operating speed of approximately 0.15 meters per second (equivalent to about 6.8 to 9 meters per minute). The device accelerates and decelerates gradually during startup and shutdown, and automatically reduces its speed when navigating turns in the staircase.

Installation requirements stipulate a minimum clear staircase width of 70 centimeters and a staircase incline (rail angle) of less than 52 degrees. The rail width is typically within 17 centimeters; when the device is folded, its width is approximately 40 centimeters, while its operating width is about 68 centimeters. Operating noise levels generally remain below 45 to 60 decibels.

The unit is typically powered by a 220V AC supply, while the control system operates on 24V DC power. Most models are equipped with rechargeable batteries serving as a backup power source, ensuring the device remains operational for several trips in the event of a power outage; some models utilize servo motors for propulsion combined with a rack-and-pinion transmission system. The overall designed service life of the unit ranges from 10 to 30 years; certain high-end models boast an extended design life, with core components (such as the motor and rail) eligible for lifetime maintenance coverage.

The footrest typically measures approximately 300 × 280 millimeters and features both anti-slip properties and an automatic folding mechanism. The seat is foldable and rotatable, and comes equipped with adjustable armrests and a safety belt. The rail is predominantly constructed from steel, with a minimum diameter of 38 millimeters and a minimum wall thickness of 4 millimeters; some models utilize seamless steel tubing with a diameter of 42 millimeters and a wall thickness of 3.5 millimeters. Furthermore, the device incorporates various safety features, including infrared obstacle detection and automatic stopping, stall protection, and overload protection.
